Jumbos run well in rainy and cold MIT Last-Chance Qualifier
Catherine Beck (1st, 2:13.05) and Sarah Crispin (3rd, 2:14.00) ran personal bests in the 800m and became the #2 and #5 performers, respectively, on Tufts all-time list. Logan Crane won the 100m in 12.37, placing her second to the great Vera Stenhouse on Tufts' all-time list. Jumbos finish eighth with great weekend at All-New England Championships
Catherine Beck (2nd, 4:31.28) and Sarah Crispin (3rd, 4:31.77) earned NCAA auto qualifiers in the 1,500, securing their trip to Oshkosh, Wisconsin in two weeks. The 4x100 relay team of Logan Crane, Kaleigh Fitzpatrick, Andrea Ferri, and Jess Mactas finished fourth in 48.78 and provisionally qualified for nationals. The 4x800 relay team of Jackie Ferry, Sarah Crispin, Kate Makai, and Catherine Beck finished third in 9:14.99 and established a new school record. Jumbos finish third at NESCAC Championships
Catherine Beck (1,500) and the 4x100 relay team of Logan Crane, Kaleigh Fitzpatrick, Andrea Ferri, and Jessica Mactas won their events, helping Tufts to a third-place finish. Aubrey Wasser, Sarah Crispin, Kathleen Rutecki, Maggie Clary, Joyce Uang, Kate Makai, Katy O'Brien, Jenna Weir, Paula Dormon, Andrea Ferri, and Julia Feltus also contributed to the scoring. Jumbos record many season bests at MIT Coed Invitational
Paula Dormon (shot put), Sarah Crispin (800), and the 4x100 relay team (Logan Crane, Kaleigh Fitzpatrick, Andrea Ferri, and Jessica Mactas) earned victories, and the weather finally cooperated at the MIT Coed Invitational April 21. Kaleigh Fitzpatrick had a banner day for the team, running 25.92 for third in the 200, and contributing to Tufts' winning 4x100 and runner-up 4x400. Kaleigh Fitzpatrick leads Tufts with two victories at the George Davis Invitational
Kaleigh Fitzpatrick (200, 400), Catherine Beck (800), Sarah Crispin (1,500), and Sarah Martin (hammer) won their events at the George Davis Invitational on April 14 at UMass Lowell. Beck's 800 time of 2:14.46 provisionally qualified her for nationals and Crispin's race was her first of the season. Paula Dormon (shot put, hammer), Logan Crane (long jump, 100), Jenna Weir (triple jump), Andrea Ferri (200), and the 4x100 and 4x400 relays also earned top-three finishes. Jumbos win Coast Guard Invitational
Paula Dormon (shot put), Kaleigh Fitzpatrick (triple jump), Susan Allegretti (steeplechase), Sarah Martin (hammer), and Catherine Beck (800, 1,500) won individual events, and Tufts 4x100 and 4x400 relays were also first across the finish line, helping Tufts to a convincing win on a chilly day. Strong season opener for Tufts at Snowflake Classic
Catherine Beck (5,000m, 17:03.03) and Anna Shih (steeplechase, 11:51.06 debut) claimed wins in their first outing of the outdoor season, and Tufts' 4x100m relay team comprised of Jessica Mactas, Andrea Ferri, Kaleigh Fitzpatrick, and Logan Crane placed third in 50.01, behind two Division I schools. Tufts' DMR breaks meet record, finishes second at nationals
Sarah Crispin, Kaleigh Fitzpatrick, Katy O'Brien, and Catherine Beck bettered the previous meet record and set a school record in the Distance Medley Relay at the 2007 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. Running 11:35.54, a time that would have won the championship any other year, the group finished second in a close battle with UW Platteville. The team members earned All-American status for their performance. On the second day of the meet, Beck doubled back to take fifth in the 5,000 and earn her second All-America honor of the weekend. Jumbos' 4x200m relay wins ECAC title
Tufts' 4x200m quartet of Aubrey Wasser, Jessica Mactas, Halsey Stebbins, and Andrea Ferri won the ECAC title on Friday, March 2nd with a time of 1:46.84. Their time was .8 of a second off of the school record, which was set in 1984. The following day, Sarah Crispin (800m, 2:15.66) and Tufts' 4x400m relay team of Jackie Ferry, Andrea Ferri, Sarah Crispin, and Kaleigh Fitzpatrick earned runner-up finishes. Tufts' Distance Medley Relay sets meet record of 11:39.08 at New England Championships; Catherine Beck destroys school record in 3,000m
Sarah Crispin, Kaleigh Fitzpatrick, Katy O'Brien, and Catherine Beck combined forces to win the DMR at the Open New England Championships on February 24 in a new meet and school record (and automatic nationals qualifier) of 11:39.08. One day later, Catherine Beck finished second in the 3,000m in 9:31.90, a time which bettered the old meet record and broke Tufts' school record by 15 seconds. Katy O'Brien won her heat of the mile in 5:03.76, which provisionally qualified her for nationals.

Tufts finishes second at New England DIII Indoor T&F Championships, wins six events
Catherine Beck (mile, 3,000m), Sarah Crispin (1,000m), Katy O'Brien (800m), as well as Tufts' 4x200m and 4x400m relays grabbed victories with Crispin and Beck both setting meet records in their events. Others contributed valuable points with top-eight finishes, and the Jumbos finished second among the 19 scoring teams.

Katy O'Brien sets 1,000m school record, Sarah Crispin jumps to #3 on Tufts' all-time list in mile
Katy O'Brien ran a solo 2:55.73 1,000m at the Valentine Invitational to establish a new school record, while Sarah Crispin ran a 4:57.34 mile, which places her third on Tufts' all-time performers list in that event. Many other athletes set personal bests at both the BU Valentine Invitational and the MIT Invitational.

Sarah Martin, Catherine Beck break school records in the weight throw and mile, respectively
With a toss of 46-04.75, Sarah Martin broke her own school record in the weight throw at this weekend's Tufts Invitational #3. Catherine Beck also broke her own school record in the mile, running 4:53.45.

Catherine Beck destroys her own school record at Terrier Invitational, others run well at weekend meets
Catherine Beck improved her own 5,000m school record by 28 seconds with her seventh-place, 16:42.23 PR at the Terrier Invitational on January 26. Tufts' DMR provisionally qualified for nationals, the 4x400m relay runners came close, and many others set personal and season bests at both the Terrier Invitational and the Bowdoin quad meet.
